K9VPN Quick Start
Follow the account, plan, and client setup from start to finish. Prepare your subscription in the dashboard, import it on your device, then confirm the connection by checking whether the service you need loads.
Interface differences: Button names vary across platforms and client versions. “Subscription,” “Configuration,” and “Profiles” usually manage configurations, while “Import from link” and “Import from URL” usually add a subscription. The steps below describe what each option does. If you can’t find a matching button, check the client’s help rather than repeatedly creating accounts.
Create an account and save your login details
Open the dashboard using the link below and go to the account creation page. K9VPN doesn’t require an email address; you can create an account with a username and password. Follow the on-screen instructions and double-check your details before submitting. Choose a username you’ll recognize, and consider using a password manager to generate and save a unique password.
Once you’re done, follow the dashboard prompts to open Account Overview. If you’re taken to the login page, sign in with the username and password you just saved. Confirm you’re using the right account before choosing a plan, especially if you use multiple browsers or devices. You haven’t imported a client yet, and signing in to the dashboard in a browser doesn’t connect your device to the network.
You should now see the dashboard and account options. If your username is unavailable, adjust it as prompted and try again. If submission fails, read the error message next to the form instead of submitting repeatedly. Keep your login details safe, and don’t share screenshots containing your password in public forums.
Choose a plan and check your order status
Once your account is ready, open the plans section in the dashboard. Think about how you’ll use the service: a monthly subscription may suit frequent use and regularly refreshed data, while a data package may suit occasional use when you’d rather draw down a set allowance over time. Installing a client and activating a subscription are separate steps; downloading a client doesn’t activate a plan.
Monthly subscriptions include ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, or ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date. Data packages include ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, or ¥658/3000GB; they last until used and never expire. Choose what you need for now—you don’t need a larger allowance just to complete setup. For the full comparison, see the plans and pricing page.
After choosing a plan in the dashboard, check the plan name, billing method, amount, and data allowance in your order. Follow the payment page instructions to pay with Alipay, WeChat Pay, or USDT. When payment is complete, return to the dashboard, check the order status, and confirm the plan appears in Account Overview. If the payment page confirms payment but the dashboard hasn’t updated, refresh the order status first. Don’t pay again until you’ve checked.
K9VPN supports unlimited simultaneous devices and offers a 60-day refund policy; see the refund policy for details. If you upgrade partway through a plan later, the price difference is converted into remaining days. For now, just confirm your plan is active before moving on to your subscription.
Get your subscription and keep it on your device
Open Account Overview in the dashboard and check your plan status and remaining data, then find the subscription section. The subscription link lets your client load server configurations; pasting it into a browser won’t connect you. If the page offers a copy-link option or a direct client import, try the method that matches your installed client. If you haven’t installed one yet, leave the dashboard open and continue to the next step.
After copying the subscription link, return to the client’s subscription or configuration settings and paste it there. Copy the full link without manually changing its parameters. Don’t use the browser address for the plans page or Account Overview as your subscription link. To avoid overwriting your clipboard, open the client’s import window before returning to the dashboard to copy the link.
Your subscription link contains personal access credentials, so protect it like a password. Don’t post it on public websites, online conversion tools, or chat groups. When troubleshooting, hide the full link and its parameters. This guide doesn’t show working subscription links; get yours from the dashboard after signing in.
You should now have subscription details ready to import into your client. If you can’t find the subscription section in Account Overview, first make sure you’re signed in to the account used for payment, then check your plan and order status. If you still can’t get the link, use a dashboard support ticket to describe the message you see and your order status. Don’t include your password or full subscription link.
Import a client for your platform
Open the client download section in the dashboard and get the K9VPN client for your operating system. Sign in to download for Windows, macOS, Android, or Linux; the iOS download link requires an active plan. Sign in to get the subscription for each platform. This page doesn’t provide direct installer links. The steps below cover common options in configuration-based clients; names and screens depend on the client provided in the dashboard.
Windows: Add a subscription from Configuration or Profiles
In the download section, choose the K9VPN client for Windows and follow the operating system and installer prompts. After opening it, look for “Configuration,” “Subscription,” or “Profiles”—don’t try to connect from an empty server list. If Windows asks you to confirm the installer’s source, make sure it came from the download section in your dashboard. Don’t turn off system security to install it.
In the configuration area, choose Add Subscription or Import from Link, then paste the full subscription link you copied. Give the configuration a name you’ll recognize, save it, and update it. When the region or server list appears, select that configuration for use. If the client asks you to enable a system proxy or route network traffic through it, follow the client’s instructions. Simply opening the app usually doesn’t establish a connection.
macOS: Import and check the active configuration
Use the macOS client provided in the download section, and check the dashboard’s compatibility notes for your device or operating system. After installing and opening the app, find configuration management in the main window or menu bar. Choose an option such as “Add Subscription” or “Import URL.” Don’t paste the subscription link into a server search box; that only filters servers already listed.
Save the subscription and update it, then check that the active configuration matches the one you just added. Some clients put server selection and the connection switch in the menu bar. A successful import shown in the main window doesn’t mean the connection is on. If macOS asks for network permissions, confirm the request comes from the client you’re using and follow the system prompts. Learn more about permissions in the user guide.
Android: Import from a link and enable the configuration
Download the Android client from the dashboard and install it as prompted. Open the app and go to Configuration, Subscription, or Add. Look for Import from URL or Import from Clipboard. Before importing from the clipboard, return to the dashboard and copy the subscription link again to avoid using unrelated text you copied earlier.
After importing and updating, return to the configuration list, select the one you just added, and open server selection. When you connect, Android may ask for permission to set up a VPN connection. Check the app name before allowing it. If another app that routes network traffic is already running, disconnect it before starting this client to avoid confusion from having both active.
iOS: Get the download link with an active plan
First, confirm your plan is active in the dashboard. Then open the iOS download section and use the App Store link provided. If the page says an active plan is required, return to Account Overview and check your status. Don’t look for alternative download links on other websites. After installing the app, return to the dashboard to copy your subscription or use the matching import option provided there.
In the client, find the subscription, configuration, or add-link section, then import your subscription and update the list. When connecting for the first time, iOS may ask permission to add a VPN configuration and require confirmation using the device’s own verification process. Follow the system prompts. Once set up, select a server and connect in the app. A system status indicator only shows that the network configuration is enabled; verify access to your target service in the next step.
After importing, you should see: a server list in the client, the correct configuration selected, and no errors when updating. If the configuration is blank, check your plan status and the copied link, then try updating again. Don’t keep adding the same subscription. Linux configuration and permissions, automatic updates, and other advanced settings are covered in the complete user guide. Continue here to finish connecting.
Connect to a server and verify access
In the client’s server list, choose a server in a region that meets the target service’s requirements. Enable the connection and any network routing options the client requires. For your first test, choose one region and keep the server unchanged while you verify access. K9VPN offers 100+ countries / 250+ servers to choose from; availability doesn’t mean every target website accepts connections from every region.
Once connected, check whether the client reports a successful connection or shows a specific error. Then use a browser to open the service you need. Whether the page loads and your account works as expected are more useful checks than the color of a connection switch. For AI tools and streaming services, also read the service’s own region, account, and subscription notices. A successful network connection doesn’t guarantee that the platform will grant access.
If the page doesn’t change, confirm the selected configuration is enabled and that the client’s system proxy or network routing option is on. Reload the page, or close and reopen it if needed. If other websites work but one service shows an error, note the message and check that service’s region and account requirements before reinstalling the client.
If none of your target pages load, check your plan, subscription update, selected configuration, and connection switch in that order. Change one thing at a time, then test the same page to help identify the issue. To try another server, disconnect first, choose one that meets the target region requirements, and reconnect. Avoid changing several network settings at once.
After confirming access, keep the working configuration and use the client to connect or disconnect as needed. K9VPN’s security messaging describes its encryption as military-grade. You should still protect your account password and subscription credentials, and follow the target platform’s rules. To use the service on another device, sign in to the same account and get the client for that platform. Simultaneous device use is unlimited.
You’ve completed the main setup. If importing fails, a permissions prompt appears, or the connection behaves unexpectedly, visit the Help Center to troubleshoot by symptom. For subscription maintenance, renewals, and advanced usage, see the user guide. When submitting a support ticket, include your operating system, client, the option you used, and the error message. Hide sensitive account details in screenshots.
